I’ve had this book around for a while, not knowing anything about the author. Looking him up while writing this, I’ve discovered he’s very politically problematic in a number of ways. My use of this text here shouldn’t be taken to endorse any of his broader political or ethical stances. The notion of images that he works with is still very helpful to me.
